This privacy policy describes how burokori ("the app") handles your information.
The short version
burokori does not collect, store, or share any of your personal data. Everything the app knows about you stays on your device.
Information we collect
None. burokori has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting, and no tracking of any kind. We do not operate any servers that receive data from the app.
Data stored on your device
To work, the app keeps a small amount of information locally on your device:
- API tokens for the study services you connect (WaniKani, Bunpro). These are stored in the iOS Keychain.
- Your blocking selection — the apps, categories, and websites you choose to block. Apple's Screen Time framework provides these as opaque tokens; the app never sees which specific apps or websites they refer to.
- App settings and review counts, used to decide whether blocking should be on.
This information never leaves your device and is never sent to us. Deleting the app removes it.
Third-party services
When you connect a study service, the app talks directly from your device to that service (api.wanikani.com or api.bunpro.jp) using the token you provided, only to read how many reviews and lessons you have due. No data passes through us. Your use of those services is governed by their own privacy policies.
Screen Time
burokori uses Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) framework to block apps and websites. Apple designs this framework so that your app usage and browsing activity are not visible to the app or to us.
Children's privacy
Because the app collects no personal information, it collects none from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
